Trump Administration Warns Russia That Demanding Ukraine’s Entire Landmass ‘A Tad Unreasonable’

WASHINGTON — Vice President JD Vance delivered a stern message to Russia at the Munich Leaders Meeting this week, firmly declaring that asking for “literally all of Ukraine” as a peace deal concession might be pushing it. The Trump administration expressed frustration that Moscow rejected a proposed 30-day ceasefire, insisting that allowing Ukraine to “not be invaded” for a month would unfairly tip the scales.

Vance clarified that while the U.S. fully supports strong-arming weaker nations in general, Russia’s current demands were “a bit much.” He suggested that Putin consider settling for just most of Ukraine, leaving Kyiv “as a fun little challenge for later.” The vice president assured reporters that Trump’s team was taking a powerful new stance by vaguely implying Russia should maybe compromise, a strategy they call “diplomacy, but louder.”

For now, Ukrainian officials were reportedly confused by the U.S. push for direct talks, asking if the goal was to negotiate or just watch them get yelled at in person. The White House denied allegations that their peace plan was inspired by Trump’s bankruptcy settlements, where creditors got 10 cents on the dollar and a complimentary steak. Talks are expected to continue, assuming Russia doesn’t suddenly decide it also wants Poland.
